Why can't I connect (authorise) my presence?

Sometimes connecting a presence may fail and there are a number of reasons why this may happen.

If you attempt to connect (authorise) a presence and it fails and you do not know the cause then try it again once as it may have just been a connection attempt.

If you still have a problem make sure you are connecting the presence from the services screen as this tends to work better due to some problems with services like Facebook and LinkedIn.

If problems remain:

  • Are you sure you have access to the presence you are attempting to connect?
  • Are you sure you have a presence on the service you are attempting to connect?
  • Has your access to the presence been changed or revoked?
  • For some services you need to be set as a manager on the presence .. are you sure you are set as a manager?
