Why does my review count differ from the listing? – mypresences

The number of reviews shown on the Reviews page is the number of reviews that have been retrieved from the listing and can be managed. This can differ from the Review Count on the listing as not all reviews have been retrieved.

This can happen for a number of reasons, such as:

Not retrieving all reviews. We don't retrieve all historical reviews on many sites.
Not being able to retrieve all reviews as they are not all available. Many sites only show a few select reviews and there is no way to retrieve the rest.
Not being able to retrieve any reviews as they are not listed. Some sites provide a Review Count but do not display any reviews. These cannot be retrieved.
The listing removed reviews that have already been retrieved by myPresences. If myPresences has already retrieved a review that is later removed from the listing then the review count in myPresences may be higher than on the listing.
This listing has an aggregated Review Count. Many sites display review counts from other websites (such as Google Business, Yelp or Tripadvisor), but do not display the reviews or display a small sample of the best reviews.

In these cases the listing may show a different Review Count to the number of reviews should for the service in the Reviews page.

For some services we retrieve all reviews that are available, for others we are only able to retrieve the latest reviews and will continue to load new reviews as they become available.

Review Count

myPresences tracks the review count on the listing so we always know the total number of reviews on the listing at any time. This is managed separately to the reviews that have been retrieved.

Full Review Retrieval

myPresences does retrieve all reviews for a number of websites including:

Google Business Profile
Facebook
Tripadvisor

Plus some others. If you have a website where not all reviews are being retrieved and would like to have historical reviews for analysis, please let us know and we will do our best to retrieve all reviews for the site.

New Review Retrieval

For sites where we don't retrieve all reviews we retrieve the reviews that are available on the first update and then new reviews each time we update. For these sites we start to collect reviews from the time you start using the platform forward.

This means we will have all reviews that were available on the first update and then all new reviews as they are posted.
